This years "Shining Star" Christmas Dinner was amazing. It took over 100 volunteers to make the night happen. We gave 187 kids toys and 80 families’ food baskets and turkeys. The night was filled with good laughs and great food. A big thank you to Katlyn for a monetary gift to make the night happen and Speroway for donating food and toys. Also a big thank you to everyone at Koinonia who either gave their time or money to make this night possible. We look forward to it happening all again next year.
Many Thanks,
Mike Beecraft

We had an amazing time away with 90 kids and 35 staff up at Upper Canada Camp. The kids enjoyed games, swimming, and our new huge water platform. We had great times in chapel, craft, dunarama, and so much more. We enojyed hanging out as teams and showing these kids the love of God. A massive thanks to the staff who gave their time and energy to impact these kids lives. Also we cannot forget about those that made it all possible through their generous financial support. Good times were had by all. Hope to see everyone next year and don't forget the Dunamis song, "Camp Dunamis is here the most fun we've had all year, Camp Dunamis is here, let's hear you cheer." Whoo!

Camp Dunamis is the most amazing week of a kid's life. Swimming, campfires, team games and there are always a couple surprises - all at no cost to the family! We have a great year in store this year, so make sure your Camp Dunamis applications come back this week completely filled out. You don't want to miss it!
We are looking forward to another great Mother's Spa Day for our KiDZONE moms. We have professional volunteers from all over the city come and treat our moms to hair, nail and massage treatments, while we spend the afternoon with their kids. It is always a great time for the moms and the kids.
Volunteers: Please arrive at 11:45 to set up.
KiDZONE families: Pick up at your community centre is at 12:00pm and we will drop you back off at 4:15.
Its going to be a great day!
as we prepare for our annual Shining Star Banquet. This year we have had to rent bigger tables to accommodate the over 300 guests from our community who will be coming for a Christmas feast. In our biggest food and toy drive yet, we are have had enough donations to provide food and toys to over 60 families in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Over 160 kids will be going home with gifts generously donated by members of Koinonia Christian Fellowship. We are looking forward to a fantastic banquet with a full Christmas dinner. We would like to thank everyone who donated food or toys, your gift is helping make this Christmas great for so many families in our city.
A very special thanks as well to Feed the Children for continuing to partner with us, donating 70 food boxes to help feed hungry children in Canada. It is a pleasure to work with you.
We had a great start to our new KiDZONE Season!
We like to hit the ground running in the fall and this year we really did! Our Fall Fairs were an incredible success dispite the poor weather. It was great to see the familiar faces of kids we know well and also to meet a lot of new kids and families. We are excited that so many of the these parents came back with their kids to our usual program. We started our regular format last week with a very large crowd! We are anticipating a bigger year, reaching more families and making a bigger impact than ever before!
We decided to start off the year with our Bodyworks lessons. Our first lesson centered on our Eyes and Ears: Being careful what we hear and watch. This week we are talking about our Brains and how our thoughts lead to actions, positive or negative. At KiDZONE, we want our lessons to be fun, practical and impacting. Kids need to hear this stuff and we love figuring out the most creative and entertaining way to communicate, while still being effective. I'm looking forward to another great year as we impact kids and families in KW.
As KiDZONE Urban Ministries launches it's 16th year our staff of volunteers eagerly await it's beginning. We will be launching at both our sites, Chicopee Centreville Community Centre on Tuesday Sept. 14, and Victoria Hills Community Centre on Thursday Sept. 16. KiDZONE will be putting on a FUN FAIR for the kids in the area to build excitment for the coming season of KiDZONE. This FUN FAIR will have games and prizes for all in attendance. After the FUN FAIR we will get into our regular program at the community centres. We have games, prizes, candy, and a message that will encourage the kids that attend. We put on the program every Tuesday and Thursday at the respective sites. Stay posted for more updates from KiDZONE Urban Ministries.
